Jamaicans Celebrate their 48th Year of Independence

The season of carnivals, festivals and parties in the summer sun is now upon us! Britain, well-known for its diverse community gives plenty of opportunity for everyone to celebrate each other’s cultures. Whether you head to the Richmond Riverside Festival to dance to obscure genres such as Gypsy Punk or to the Imperial Wharf Jazz festival to brush up on your swinging jazz beats you can be sure that London will continue to be the main hub for all these cultural celebrations.

African and Caribbean influences have been on the rise on the London scene, the Notting Hill Carnival for example is one of the biggest Caribbean celebrations in the world second only to Rio de Janeiro. Carnivals and festivals are all about celebrating one’s individuality, a country’s pride and history and so it comes as no surprise that World Promotion UK will be hosting an event to celebrate Jamaican Independence Day.

Jamaican Independence Day was in actual fact last week! But because Jamaicans love to party hard the celebrations are a week long; just long enough for them to show Britain what they’ve got to offer! So to celebrate this special day in style, this Saturday we’ll be heading to the Heritage Banqueting Suit where a night of music and entertainment will be provided by world renowned DJ David Rodigan and the number 1 female DJ in the UK, Lady Lyrical. Shoobs has kept a keen eye on these upcoming events so you can grab your ticket for this exclusive event here.

Party the summer away with parades, festivities and cultural music!
