GRAMMY-nominated American rapper Nipsey Hussle will be making his 2019 European festival exclusive appearance at the inaugural The Ends Festival. British-born Ghanaian Kojey Radical will bring an explosive show that will immerse you into a dynamic blend of everything from smooth rap to gruff soul to propulsive rock to searing grime, all interjected with pensive moments of spoken word from the poet-turned-musical artist. A2 and Rachael Anson also join Nas, rap royalty De La Soul, grime legend Ghetts and Croydon MC Nadia Rose for Friday’s line-up.
Wande Coal who has been added to Saturday’s star studded line-up is no stranger to British-born Nigerian artist Maleek Berry who also tops the bill. In addition to these remarkable names, East London local Kojo Funds will head South to play alongside an incredible line-up at Lloyd Park. With 90 million streams and YouTube views, globally, he remains at the forefront of the UK Afrobeat inspired sound. Together, these artists will be no stranger to Juls – one of the most prolific producers of the Afropop industry who will cross paths again with Wande Coal, Maleek Berry, and Kojo Funds. They all join Kranium, Donae’O and international headliner Wizkid to top Saturday’s bill.
Following the release of her debut EP, South Londoner, and Brit School graduate Jaz Karis whose luscious vocals that travel between the soundscape of soul, jazz, and hip-hop joins Sunday’s line-up. Nigerian reggae-dancehall singer and songwriter Burna Boy will head to Croydon to perform hits ‘Sekkle Down’, ‘Ye’ and ‘Rock Your Body’. Closing the festival on Sunday, Croydon FM and The Compozers will join Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, Reggaeton regular J Balvin, British R&B and soul singer NAO and U.S. “TrapHouseJazz” singer Masego.
The Ends Festival is proud to be working with Croydon Music and Arts Council to shine a light on some of the finest in homegrown talent. To do this, they will be running The Croydon Council stage, which will feature local artists across the festival weekend. The main objective is to provide a platform for 14-30-year-old musicians in the hopes that they can follow in the footsteps of those who came before them (Nadia Rose, Maleek Berry, Jaz Karis to name a few).
Aiming to engage and inspire local, national, and international communities of composers, performers, creators, and concert-goers through world-class performances, The Ends Festival is one of the most anticipated festivals of the year.
