Description

Poetry Meets Art is back and fresher than ever so I hope you're all ready for yet another year of empowerment, inspiration, great entertainment and of course....standing in solidarity with Congo and their precious minerals. This event has been successfully duplicated with a Saaf (South) East London vibe to it in Elephant and Castle so come along and enjoy!

We've been supporting Panzi Hospital in Eastern Congo which serves as a much needed refuge for women and children; our help via 10% of door and ticket money has trained not 1, 2, 3 but 4 more surgeons, provided counselling, more beds and hospital equipment. You truly are live savers!

So to kick off this year check out who've we've got lined up especially for you....

LIVE ART FROM....
Nebula Nebula
This artist has been a complete honour to work with on a twice-monthly basis and from her work it's clear to see why. Check out her blog and make sure you're here at this event to contribute to her distinctive art style

PERFORMANCES FROM....
Shade Joseph
The amount of talent and not just any type of talent, pure talent, raw talent, passionate talent that flows from Shade is unfathomable! Not only is she a spoken word artist - and so good that she recently won the title of 'Word4Word Slam Champion - but also an incredible and versatile keyboard and guitar player.

Antarma
Another level is the most simplest term I can put it in when it comes to describing this extremely versatile performer - guitarist, djembe drummer, vocalist, spoken word artist and performer to name a few! His material draws on the Universal and Spiritual and can be felt in the form of positive vibrations that leave you feeling uplifted; this is the absolute and number one rule of sound, spoken word and music so prepare yourselves for a shift to rise to....another level!

Antonia King
This up-and-coming spoken word artist has been taking over stages all over London recently and also won the title of 'Ingeta Slam Champion' - Carpe Diem Events new poetry slam! Her witty style and ease in front of an audience is the perfect balance to her poetry which acts as a social commentary as well as her personal experiences on gender and race.

MUSIC FROM....
Sid Mercutio

Remember....
There's also open mic so if you want to perform or want to share something simply turn up and put your name down. Or...we'll be sharing in the delights of healthy vegan food for only £4 a plate, get some before it all goes because once it's done it's done!
