Greetings brothers and sisters,
The 6,000-year history of the Afro Comb, its extraordinary impact on cultures worldwide, and community stories relating to hair today are being explored in an exhibition at the Fitzwilliam Museum and the Museum of Archaeology & Anthropology in Cambridge. until the 3rd of November.
Been wanting to attend this so I thought it would be fun if we made a day of it and went with friends (and friends of friends etc).
I've therefore decided to organise a group trip to Cambridge on Saturday 2nd Nov to see this exhibition. Whether you are an hair enthusiast or fancy a trip out of London and meeting new people then you are more than welcome to join us.
The plan is as follows.
- Meet at Kings Cross(KGX) at 11:30AM.
- Board the 11:45 train to Cambridge(CBG)
- Arrive in Cambridge at 12:30pm
- Walk to Fitz Museum (15/20 minute walk)
- Spend up to 2.5 hours at the museum.
- Grab something to eat around 4pm
- Jump on the train back to London for 5:30/6pm
Entry to the museum is FREE.
Only thing you have to pay for is your Return ticket which you will have to book in advance (either online, phone or in person at Kings Cross). If you book EARLY, it should be £15:90 + BF.
Please feel free to invite your friends and family. I have contacted the museum in advance so they should be expecting us.
