Essa - Album Launch

To celebrate the release of his eagerly awaited album The Misadventures of a Middle Man, Essa plays a special one-off show at The Jazz Cafe.

Early releases ‘Liquid Love’, ‘City Breaks’ and ‘Dancing Shoes’ (under former name Yungun) established him as one of the UK’s finest MCs. Collabs with Guru (Gang Starr/Jazzmatazz) and praise from Nas and Mark Ronson followed. All of this whilst pursuing a parallel career as an entertainment lawyer.

The collisions of these two worlds, plus his mixed race heritage, are the inspiration for new album ‘The Misadventures Of A Middle Man‘. With production from Waajeed (Platinum Pied Pipers), Ta-Ku, fLako, Eric Lau, Tall Black Guy and Budgie, it’s an album of rare quality and varied sounds. This show is a unique chance to experience it live with a full band joining his trusty DJ, the incomparable Mr. Thing.
