Welcome back y'all! We're back for April and we ain't playing around!
This month we're looking at City Rhythms; the melodies of a concrete jungle, the flows of Babylon's rivers, all the different stories of the city and tales from the towers.
For our features, we've gone to the well of Hip-Hop Poetry in London to bring you two of the most important community builders and artists working in the city today... Wondr WomN + Ragz C-V!
WondRWomN has been bubbling on the UK's Hip Hop scene for a while now, drawing on the likes of Eminem and Tupac for inspiration, the rapper has cultivated her own niche stye of rap that heavily incorporates boom bap jazzy production and live bands.
She is fresh home from her latest abroad live performance, where she opened up for Spanish Hip Hop group SFDK in Jerez, Spain, to a crowd of over 3000 people. She has also recently released her new single "Table 4 1”, hailing from the release of her hip hop based 3 track EP "The Girl Next Door, That Raps" in mid 2018.
WondRWomN is also the founder of The Rec Shop, a free recording studio and platform for upcoming musicians and artists, offering workshops, events and placements. They have been featured in TimeOut, BBC News, ITV News and have collaborated with National Lottery and The London Youth Support Trust.
