Description

The Comedy Shutdown tour arrives in Coventy for its 3rd show in the series and falls perfectly in time for Black History Month. So we celebrate with a line up of some great Urban Comedians and our favourite Maureen Younger

Check out some of the best Urban Comedians in the great settings of the Belgrade Theatre Coventry.

On the night you have the ferociously quick witted Kane Brown,The veteran comedy Host Kat B, Smash Entertainz from Belly Buss Comedy and our favourite Auntie Maureen Younger.

This is a night of laughter, drinks and great entertainment.

Doors open - 7pm Showtime - 730pm

Don't forget after the show it's the afterparty. We join the guys at Prive at Seven Spon St, CV1 3AX for some Old Skool RnB, Hip Hop and more. The perfect night out after the hilarious comedy show!!!

Kane Brown

Kane Brown is THE name which has become associated with fearless and bold comedy who leaves crowds wanting more with his outlandish, direct & honest style of comedy.

Kat B

Kat is quick, quirky and an all-round entertainer with enormous appeal. A talented MC, present, actor, dancer, choreographer and stand up comedian and both hosts and performs stand up. He is well known for his antics on MTV Base where he has presented numerous shows including a show about Trinidad Carnival, Kat In Ghana a more serious show about the lives of people in Kwahu Tafo, a show in Jamaica where he recorded his own song (20 seconds of it!!), "The Lick" (with Trevor Nelson) and the "Request Show".

Kat presented his own radio show on Choice FM for 7 years.

As an actor Kat has appeared in numerous productions at the Theatre Royal, Stratford East including Lorca's "The Public", "The Dragon Can't Dance" "Da Boyz" as well as many variety nights. He choreographed Theatre Royal's touring musical "One Dance Will Do", the 2002 production of "Shoot 2 Win" and Roy Williams acclaimed 'Little Sweet Thing'. He founded and continues to run "Ruff Stuff", an award-winning dance troupe.

Other theatre credits include The Kat & Tameka Show with Tameka Empson, Scarecrow in "The Wiz" (Hackney Empire), Billy Goose in "Mother Goose" (Hackney Empire), "A Christmas Carol" (Hackney Empire), Snowman in "Jack and The Beanstalk" (Hackney Empire,) "The Day The Bronx Died" (Tricycle Theatre), Dick Whittington (Hackney Empire), the title role in Puss in Boots (Hackney Empire), Snowman in Jack & The Beanstalk at the Hackney Empire and work with The Posse and the BiBi Crew. Kat is celebrating his 10th consecutive year at Hackney Empire and is in the Empire Hall of Fame.

Film and television credits include "Waterland", "Street Wise", "Up Late With Gina Yashere" (BBC2), "Nights Out At The Empire" (C4), "The Richard Blackwood Show" (C4) and "Kerching" (CBBC).

Smash

Maureen Younger

Much-travelled Maurren Younger - who has lived in Austria, Germany, France, Spain, Russia and the Ukraine - began performing comedy sketches for a French café theatre group, Meceuil Théâtre de Paris. On her return to the UK, she turned to stand-up, making the final of the 2007 Hackney Empire New Act competition. She is also an actor.
