Head to one of the UK's most treasured buildings this June 9th, 2023 and enjoy a night celebrating the 75th anniversary of Windrush, brought to you by DJ Trevor Nelson! 

 

This one-off concert will be capturing the breadth of musical influence which the Windrush generation has had on British culture over the last 75 years.

 

The line-up of guest stars will include:

 

 

Craig David, R&B/UKG singer, songwriter and national treasure in Britain.

 

 

Beverley Knight MBE, Singer/Songwriter and TV personality who’s music is heavily influenced by American soul icons like Aretha Franklin.

 

 

Loose Ends, a British R&B band that had several hit records throughout the 80s and into the 90s, still continuing to make incredible tunes today.

 

 

YolanDa Brown OBE, a British saxophonist, composer, broadcaster and chair of the British Phonographic Industry.  Her musical sound, a rich cocktail of reggae, jazz and soul.

 

 

Tobago Crusoe, a calypsonian, composer and musician who's been seen as a mas­ter of the art form of ca­lyp­so for over 30 years. 

 

 

Hak Baker, an East-London born musician with Grime roots now creates music that he’s self-titled 'G-Folk'. His music — unique, thought-provoking and raw which is loved by many for its originality.

 

 

Award-winning British author and poet Salena Godden is widely anthologised and has published several books. She has also written for BBC TV and radio and has released four studio albums to date.

 

 

And all of these performances will be accompanied by the incredible Chineke! Orchestra conducted by Chris Cameron!

 

The concert will be broadcast on BBC Radio 2, on Sunday 18 June, as part of the BBC’s programming to mark the Windrush anniversary.
