Boomerang screening + After Party

Just got paid is a monthly / bi- monthly event laid on by Soulgigs for, colleagues, guests and associates. They mostly share a similar mid month pay day and enjoy the opportunity to socialise in a friendly and professional environment after work. Suitable for singles, couple and large groups.

This event will screen the film Boomerang within the Attic Bar of the Hackney Picture House, which is where the After Party also takes place. A cocky ad executive, Marcus (Eddie Murphy) has a reputation as a ladies' man. However, Marcus gets a taste of his own medicine when a merger finds him working under the beautiful Jacqueline (Robin Givens), who has a similarly cavalier attitude about romance. Marcus and Jacqueline become involved, but he is put off by her noncommittal approach to their relationship. Meanwhile, Marcus also begins to develop feelings for the pretty Angela (Halle Berry), who is more thoughtful than Jacqueline.

Straight after expect musical genres to include RnB, Hip Hop, Reggae, House, Classic Soul, Club Classics, Soca, Afro Beats and Jungle. Guests are typically over 30 and the selection of music will reflect the experience of the mature and sophisticated crowd.
