Widely considered one of Britain’s dancehall stalwarts and a hugely influential individual, Macka B returns to the Jazz Café and in doing so brings his unmistakably identifiable voice and message to back NW1. In a career spanning the best part of thirty years, Macka B burst onto the UK Scene in 1985 with his single ‘Bible Reader’, combining the styles of dancehall and dub-reggae to the core values of political consciousness integral to Rastafarianism.
Most notably, Macka B is celebrated for his collaboration with Guyanese producer Mad Professor who combined to create many of the UK’s most revered records in the genre, and recently he has become a public leader for the vegan community with his viral rhymes about the health benefits of a vegetable based diet.
