We are back at The Bedford (Balham, SW12) on Sunday 25th March with - 'The Power of Creativity'.
Join us as we discuss mental health and enjoy a night of Poetry, Hip Hop and Song!
We have an amazing line up for you with spoken word artist Salma El-Wardany, and soul singers C.W Jones and Greg Blackman!
At every event we promote a different mental health organisation to raise awareness and funds for the work they do. This time around will be shining a spotlight on 'CoolTan Arts' who promote creativity as a way to enhance mental well being. http://www.cooltanarts.org.uk/
You can visit the Facebook event page to check out the artists work and stay up to date with all the developments in the run up to the event. https://www.facebook.com/events/402060763589406
We provide a platform in the form of an Open Mic for anyone who wishes to share their work, whether that may be a poem, song, thought or story. Everyone is welcome. If you have been wanting to share your work, this is a safe environment and the perfect place for you to do so for the first time.
We handed out feedback forms at our January event which were very helpful. Thank you to every one that filled them in! The main issue that came up was the open mic pushing the entire night back. No one wants to be out until midnight on a Sunday so we have streamlined the open mic section which is now hosted by our new partner, Miss Yankey. Founder of Poetry Prescribed.
New Open Mic guidelines:
1. Acappella only
2.One piece or a maximum of three minutes
3. State name, then piece
4. We will share all open mic'ers info on our socal media pages and there will be a longer interval where everyone can network and exhange info
Open Mic sign up on arrival (Doors open at 6pm)
Tickets are available now from www.shoobs.com. £6 Advance / £10 Door
We hope to see you on the 25th!
