Europe’s finest female a cappella quintet, Black Voices Quintet return to our stage after their spellbinding Nina Simone and Billie Holiday performances, as they pay tribute to the Queen of Soul, the late, great Aretha Franklin.
With a voice that was bred from gospel, blues and jazz, Franklin’s work across her 50 year career was immeasurably important not just in terms of her cultural impact in 20th century America but also with the countless artists whom she inspired, who consequently helped to shape the golden age of US soul in the 50s and 60s.
