Olamide Adedeji, or Olamide Baddo to his fans, was born and raised in the Lagos suburb of Bariga. As one of the most promising and rising stars in the hip hop industry, it is widely accepted that he brought about cultural change in Nigeria, changing the perceptions and feeling towards rap music, with more and more people embracing both him and the genre. His style of blending beats and tunes is made more interesting by the use of his native tongue of Yoruba and English in his lyrics. Perhaps it's this that has helped him claim a collection of prestigious awards, like Rap Artist of the Year, Artist of the Year and Best Single and Album at various award ceremonies.
Inspired by the likes of Jay-Z, his debut album Rapsodi dropped in 2011 with the lead single 'Eni Duro' charting in Nigeria. His second album YBNL - which includes hit tracks 'First of All', 'Voice of the Street' and 'Ilefo Illuminati' - caught the attention of the international music industry, which led to collaborations with various artists and a string of award nominations.
