Pen-Ting Vol. 23: Black Futures

During Black History Months we like to shine extra light on some world-shaking Black figures from the past and present, whose work stays changing hearts and uplifting Black people.

We're reading Yrsa Daley Ward and Audre Lorde, being inspired by revolutionary minds from Sankara to Akala, we're celebrating Blackness past, present and future, and we want you to be part of it...

Doors open from 6:30pm, 7:00 start.
Main show finishes at 9:30, cypher starts at 10.

OPEN MIC

Whether you’re a rapper, poet, musician, actor, or storyteller of any kind, you’re welcome to 3 minutes on the mic to do your thing.

We have 10 Open Mic tickets available in advance, and if you don't get a slot ahead of time, arrive at 6:30 to sign up on the door. (7 spots available OTD, plus reserves)

(If you have a backing track/instruments/any other technical requirements, please let us know via email at least one day the event)

CYPHER (POST-SHOW)

As always we encourage anyone and everyone to come and take part whether you're a seasoned MC or just want to try something new. Our rap cypher is space for anyone to shoot your shot and spit your piece over a selection of beats from our DJs. Come and enjoy the vibes and join the conversation by jumping on the mic or standing back and soak it up!
The PTP Cypher takes place after the main event until 11pm, hosted by The Repeat Beat Poet.
