Ghana Independence is a day that not only celebrates freedom from Ghana but a day that can resonate with Africans around the continent. As we enter into the 66th year of independence, we live in age where many of us can benefit from knowing more about our culture and we believe that shedding light on Ghana Independence – especially being the first African country to gain independence, we can do just that.
With respect to the annual success of The Compozers sold out celebratory concert in the UK, it is only right we team up with one of Ghana’s and Africa’s most renowned rappers Sarkodie to curate a remarkable musical experience of a lifetime.
After a sold out date, The Compozers x Sarkodie and Friends Ghana Independence special return for a second date 6th March 2023 at the newly acclaimed Outernet venue in Central London.
Going into the 10 year celebrations of The Compozers, we use this event to kick of the official celebrations. Collaborating with the king of Ghana hip-hop is nothing new to fans.
The Compozers & Sarkodie have managed to create an organic relationship over the years performing with him at some of his notable shows throughout his career including the first African acts to sell out New York’s Apollo Theatre. During the spontaneous appearance of Sarkodie at The Compozers last year Ghana Independence show, plans for an annual headline show had to be the next thing.
Sarkodie has cemented the music industry with over a decade in music. Recently taking to the stage at the Global Citizen Festival in Accra which saw him perform alongside acts such as Usher, Tems and SZA. He has also just come of celebrating the 10th anniversary of his career defining second album Rapperholic.
