Project Culture return to the TAM Smithfield, with a night of exciting, forward-thinking - and most importantly fun - indie rock. The band will be supported by their friends The Q-Days and Cian Downing!
Project Culture
Project Culture are a 4-piece art rock band who have spent the last year gigging relentlessly, charming audiences across London and Surrey with their unique blend of melodic indie pop and tryhard slacker rock. Self-appointed 'defenders of the middlebrow', these plucky upstarts are just as inspired by books, films, theatre and stand-up comedy as they are by indie rock, living up to their name by drawing from a wide range of pop culture - be it ‘high’ or ‘low’ culture - to create something truly their own. The band have been praised by BBC Introducing for their “post-punk energy and the sense of urgency in the songwriting” and their ability to “address and transform clichés into original turns of phrase” in their lyrics, and have been picked to perform at Alexandra Palace's 150th birthday celebrations this summer.
The Q-Days
Blending a mixture of Brit-Pop, Shoegaze and Indie Rock into their own heart-warming, anthemic sound. The Q-Days world is one of escapism, freedom of expression and euphoria.
Originally hailing from the seaside town of Southend-On-Sea, Essex. The Q-Days have spent their early years honing their craft, regularly playing shows and open mics around the UK including support slots for Bilk, The Rifles, and Youth Killed It. Relocating to Brighton towards the end of 2022 marked a new era for the band and after many twists and turns in their journey over the last few years, they are ready to make their mark on the next generation of British guitar music.
The Q-Days long-awaited debut single ‘Underboard’ arrives on 7th April on all digital platforms.
Cian Downing
Channelling the quintessentially British songwriting styles of artists like Paul Weller and Billy Bragg, Cian has burst onto the London music scene in the past 18 months with catchy melodies and driving guitar riffs. His latest single ‘I’ll Always Keep' has been received especially well by fans, with its references to 2Tone Ska and classic noughties indie.
